A Guide for Students and Parents

We are excited you have chosen Leslie School of Dance for your dance training. The first step to becoming a successful dancer is making a solid commitment to your classes, rehearsals and performances. Strong technique is a key ingredient and class is where you develop that technique.

Come to each class prepared to learn and without personal distractions.  Be on time, dance full out  and make the most of every class. True progress is made when you look at each class and rehearsal as an opportunity to become better.

For 2020-2021, students must come into the studio with a mask, when you are in your dance square, you can remove the mask if you wish and we will not have wear them unless we are not able to social distance.

Students are placed in the class that best suits ability at the discretion of the instructor. Placement decisions are derived from many years teaching experience.  Often a student is placed in a particular group or class where he or she will feel confident, in order to promote the development of self esteem. Sometimes dancers placed in higher level based solely on age can become discouraged and lose their passion for dance. Others will respond to the challenge of being in a class where they can be pushed. Placementis highly individualized and the factors that go into the decisions are complex. If you have chosen us as your dance studio, please trust our process and know that we have all of ourdaners best interests in mind when making these decisions.

All dancers must show respect for their teachers and fellow students at all times. Inappropriate behavior could result in dismissal from the program. Negativity towards anyone will not be tolerated in our studio.
