Dancers
We are excited you have chosen Leslie School of Dance for your dance training. The first step to becoming a successful dancer is making a solid commitment to your classes, rehearsals and performances. Strong technique is a key ingredient and class is where you develop that technique.

Come to each class prepared to learn and without personal distractions. Be on time, dance full out and make the most of every class. True progress is made when you look at each class and rehearsal as an opportunity to become better.

Students are placed in the class that best suits ability at the discretion of the instructor. Placement decisions are derived from many years of teaching experience. Often a student is placed in a particular group or class where he or she will feel confident, in order to promote the development of self esteem. Sometimes dancers placed in higher level based solely on age can become discouraged and lose their passion for dance. Others will respond to the challenge of being in a class where they can be pushed. Placementis highly individualized and the factors that go into the decisions are complex. If you have chosen us as your dance studio, please trust our process and know that we have all of our dancers best interests in mind when making these decisions.
All dancers must show respect for their teachers and fellow students at all times. Inappropriate behavior could result in dismissal from the program. Negativity towards anyone will not be tolerated in our studio.

Thank you for choosing us for your dancer's dance studio. We promise to always have their best interests at heart and take great care of them while they are in our care. We know that you all will want to view your dancers and see how they are doing in class, please understand that students will do much better with out parent(s) in the room with them. They are not able to develop the necessary bond with their teacher if a parent is present and and answering everything for them. We do allow a parent to come with a student for the first class or two while they acclimate and get comfortable with their surroundings - after that, we encourage you to wait outside of the classroom. If there is a day that you need to observe, please make arrangements ahead or ask to view from the hallway. If your child is not able to attend without you, please consider our tiny tots and me class which is a parent participation class.

All parents should respect the studio staff, fellow parents and dancers and refrain from gossip and negative comments and behavior. If you do need to address something, please set up an appointment with either the teacher or the director (Miss Leslie) or both.
