For almost twenty years, Leslie School of Dance has served the Twin Tiers community with quality, cutting-edge classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, AcroDance, and Modern. Owner Leslie Updyke, an Elmira native, firmly believes that even small communities have incredibly talented people, and small communities deserve the same professional, challenging, and inspiring instruction as can be found in larger metropolitan areas.
Leslie School of Dance instructors come from diverse backgrounds to teach a standard methodology of classical ballet and many other dance forms which nurtures young bodies, with age appropriate development and strong technique. Leslie School of Dance offers strength building, flexibility, focus, creativity and a love of movement to boys and girls interested in dance.
From the preschooler enjoying the freedom of movement to the student looking for a career in dance. Leslie School of Dance offers an instructional program to support your goals and desires. Dance training can be a wonderful addition to a child's life. The awareness of the anatomy and the ability to control the body's muscles, as well as finding their creativity and the artist within will stand them in good stead for all they do. We encourage dancers to develop their talents while fostering a positive, healthy, and supportive atmosphere. We believe dancers can work hard and still have fun, too!
